2023-24 Above & Beyond Awards recipient: Coral-Lyn Wyman

Coral-Lyn Wyman“Ms. Wyman makes a difference in my daughter’s life. There are a lot of amazing staff who have worked with my children, but Coral-Lyn Wyman goes way above and beyond her job description every single day.” - Parent of a CPHS student.

Coral-Lyn Wyman is committed to providing a welcoming and positive learning environment for students. As an assistant principal at Champlin Park High School (CPHS), Wyman believes that fostering positive relationships with students, families and the community is key to helping create that environment.

“Getting to know students is very important to me,” Wyman said. “Through relationship building, active listening, and creative problem solving, I ensure that students feel valued, heard and supported.”

She uses this approach to remind students that their current situations are not their final destinations by encouraging resilience and perseverance.

“The support never ends with a meeting or a phone call,” the nominator said. “Ms. Wyman met with us and created a plan to support my daughter. She repeatedly followed through with the plan that was discussed and checked in on her grades, assignments and attendance, and through a weekly personal connection.”

Wyman continually develops innovative ideas to enhance learning and meet the evolving needs of students. She has helped plan and implement the freshman orientation day at CPHS, providing a focused and welcoming introduction to the school for new students. Wyman also helps lead advisement class lessons at CPHS to align with students’ social, emotional and academic needs.

She is inspired to help students reach their full potential through mentorship, encouragement and recognition of their achievements, inspires students to believe in themselves, pursue their passions, and become the best versions of themselves academically, socially and personally.

The 2024 Above & Beyond Awards ceremony to honor Wyman and 14 other exceptional employees will take place April 3 at the Educational Service Center (ESC).
