Inspiration for future career goals sparked by “Made in the North Metro” exploration event
(10/12/2025) Approximately 60 high school juniors and seniors from Anoka-Hennepin high schools were able to attend the "Made in the North Metro Career Fair,” coordinated by the Metro North Chamber of Commerce and the Anoka County Job Training Center on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at the National Sports Center in Blaine.
Career and College Specialists from Anoka-Hennepin high schools worked to identify students interested in exploring manufacturing career and college opportunities, and provided them with the opportunity to ride in a bus together to meet local employers, explore hands-on career-related manufacturing and trades activities, and experience demonstrations to connect with career opportunities and industries in the North Metro area at the event.
Representatives from local businesses and staffing resources* were present to share more about career pathways and future opportunities within their businesses and the industries.
Anoka-Hennepin Schools Career and College Specialists work with students throughout the year to pursue relevant career and college pathways, develop resumes and cover letters for job searches, and seek out internship and scholarship opportunities aligned to their future goals.
