(03/27/2019) Anoka-Hennepin Schools is addressing ongoing parking and access issues at Monroe Elementary School to improve safety of students, staff and visitors to the school. Improvement projects are planned for the summer of 2019.
The site layout creates separate areas for bus drop-off/pick-up, parent/guardian drop-off/pick-up and staff parking along with additional sidewalks for pedestrian safety. A new bus corral and staff parking area immediately south of the school would be connected to Meadowood Drive with an access road. As part of this project, Anoka-Hennepin Schools will also relocate and improve playground amenities and reconstruct ballfields.
Project review and approval is proposed for spring 2019 with construction during the summer months. The goal is to have the new site improvements in place for the 2019-20 school year.
