Monroe Elementary named Magnet Schools of America School of Distinction
(01/23/2025) Monroe Elementary School: Mathematics, Science and Children’s Engineering has been named a 2025 Magnet Schools of America (MSA) School of Distinction.
MSA national merit awards are given to magnet schools that demonstrate a commitment to high academic standards, curriculum innovation, successful desegregation and diversity efforts, and strong parent and community involvement. To be considered for a merit award, member schools must submit an application scored by a panel of educators.
MSA is a nonprofit organization that supports and assists magnet schools nationwide and represents approximately 4,300 magnet and theme-based schools nationwide.
Monroe Elementary integrates Project Lead the Way Launch curriculum which allows students to explore engineering, computer programming and science concepts in a fun, engaging and collaborative way.
STEM education encourages students to use creative problem solving strategies to plan and design new technologies using the Engineering Design Process. As engineers, we define technology as a product or process that is designed and created to solve a problem.
