Ann Sangster named new director of elementary curriculum
(06/26/20) Mississippi Elementary School Principal Ann Sangster has been named Anoka-Hennepin’s new director of elementary curriculum.
Sangster is currently the principal at Mississippi Elementary School, a position she has held for five years. Before that, she was an assistant principal at Andover Elementary School for three years, and a teaching and learning specialist for the district for more than six years. She began her teaching career in Anoka-Hennepin in 1991 as a first grade teacher at McKinley Elementary School.
“I’m very excited for my new role as elementary curriculum director,” she said. “I am looking forward to joining the team and collaborating with a talented group of educators to continue to equip our staff with the tools they need to provide high quality learning experiences for all of our elementary students.”
Sangster earned her master’s degree in elementary education in 1998 from Hamline University and her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Minnesota in 1989. She earned her administrative licensure from the University of Minnesota in 2001.
She replaces Ranae Case Evenson, who this spring was named the new interim superintendent of Jordan Public Schools. Sangster will begin her new role July 1.
