District staff working hard to prepare for distance-learning as part of COVID-19 response
(03/18/20) Since March 16, at each high school, groups of technology staff have been preparing more than 13,000 Chromebook laptops for students who will be taking them home to support distance learning while schools are closed by state mandate. The work includes disassembling media carts to access power cords for each Chromebook, and then testing each laptop to make sure it’s working and functional. See photos from Anoka and Blaine high schools.
As Anoka-Hennepin’s distance-learning plan is finalized, the Chromebooks will be made available to students in grades 4-12. Should the state extend the school closure order, students and parents/guardians will be notified on how devices will be distributed.
Anoka-Hennepin is committed to timely and accurate information regarding district planning in response to the state order to close schools as part of the governor’s COVID-19 response. Thank you for remaining patient as Anoka-Hennepin works hard during this quickly developing situation.
