6th Grade WEB Day – Wednesday, August 21 – 8:15 – 12:15 pm The purpose of this half-day is to make the transition from elementary school to middle school a positive one. Eighth graders will be serving as leaders and mentors to the sixth graders. Large and small group activities are designed to address students’ needs and concerns in an enjoyable manner.
Sixth grade families should look for more information to be included in Mr. Hagerty’s Welcome letter to be mailed the week of August 12.
Passport/Picture Day – Friday, August 23 – 8 am – 5 pm Passport/Picture Day welcomes students to the new school year and ensures that specifics tasks are completed prior to the start of the school year.
Students will have their school photos taken for student ID’s and the school Yearbook. Parents will confirm that they have completed the on-line emergency contact information prior to picking up class schedules and receiving locker assignments. Classrooms will not be open, but students will be able to tour the building and place school supplies in their lockers. Passport Day was created to add time and space to an open house type experience for our families and give another option other than our Open House to families.
Open House – Wednesday, August 28 – 6 – 8 pm Open House is very informal and provides an opportunity for students to pick up their schedule, find their classrooms, meet their teachers, check out JMS clothing for sale, check out the Entertainment book fundraiser, try their lockers and familiarize themselves with the building.
