Upcoming Parent Engage 360 event: Screening of the documentary: Like
(01/06/2022) Join parents and guardians from the Anoka-Hennepin Schools communities for the third Parent Engage 360 event of the 2021-22 school year. On Thursday, Jan. 20, view a free screening of the documentary, “Like,” which explores the impact of social media and technology on the brain.
This event will be held virtually and is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Reserve your spot today.
The film explores the impact of social media on our lives and the effects of technology on the brain. Understanding that virtual connection is not going away and has many benefits, the goal is to inform, educate, and inspire people of all ages to self-regulate, so they can enjoy balanced and fulfilled lives.
A panel discussion will follow the screening of the documentary and will include experts who will share resources and answer questions.
The event is being hosted by Anoka County Gaps in Services and Training and is made possible in part by the Anoka-Hennepin Educational Foundation (AHEF) including grants from the Ham Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and the Spring Lake Park Lions. Anoka-Hennepin will host five Parent Engage 360 events this school year, covering topics such as mental wellness, social media and internet safety, and chemical health. The district hosted a presentation and discussion on mental health Dec. 9 and will hold a follow-up event to “Like,” leading a discussion on social media and internet safety on Thursday, Feb. 3. A discussion on chemical health is scheduled for Thursday, April 7.
