Changes in AP Exam Registration

Changes in AP Exam Registration Coming this Fall:

College Board (the company who runs AP exams) has decided that all schools need to register for AP exams in the fall, instead of the spring, starting in the 2019-20 school year.  They have found that students are more engaged, confident and less likely to give up when they commit to the exam earlier.  They have also seen an increase in scores on exams when the registration time was moved up.  AP exam registration will take place at the same time as IB exam registration this fall.   

The timeline for AP Registration looks like this:

·  Students will be receiving information about signing up for the AP exam(s) within the first couple weeks of school. Information will be shared through student announcements and trimester 1 AP classes. Students who have AP courses trimesters 2 and 3 will be contacted during trimester 1 by AP coordinators.

·  Students will receive a paper bus permission form that will need to be signed and returned to the counseling office after payment has been made. If students are taking the exam(s), payment can be made online through their student activity fee account, or they may pay by cash or check made payable to Anoka High School (AHS) in the finance office.

o The cost of exams is $60 per exam, unless a student verifies they are on free or reduced lunch, in which case the fee is $10 per exam.

·  The deadline for AP test registration, payment and the paper bus permission form is Friday, October 11th at 3 p.m. No late registrations will be accepted.
