Anoka-Hennepin to hold an elementary special education para hiring event
(01/02/2020) Anoka-Hennepin's employee services department will hold an elementary special education para hiring event on Thursday, Jan. 9. The event will be held from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the Erling Johnson Rooms C and D at the Educational Service Center (ESC) located at 2727 N Ferry St. in Anoka.
With 20 newly created positions, Anoka-Hennepin is hiring special education paras across the communities that our 26 elementary schools serve, including Andover, Anoka, Blaine, Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Champlin, Coon Rapids, and Ramsey.
The event will include a presentation by Melissa Hayes, director of special education for elementary schools, about the role of a special education para and the importance and impact that paras have on students and schools. Attendees will also have the opportunity to view a presentation by Julie Phillips, recruitment and retention specialist, about the district’s hiring process, starting salaries, and positions available.
Principals or school representatives for schools with openings will also be present at the event giving attendees the opportunity to learn more about each position, ask questions and meet with school leadership.
All applications must be completed online. Attendees are asked to visit ahschools.us/jobs to start an application prior to the hiring event. A computer lab will be open during the hiring event.
