Anoka-Hennepin’s 2016-17 Above & Beyond Award winners announced

Above & Beyond Award winners announced. Fourteen outstanding district employees have been selected as the Anoka-Hennepin School District’s 2016-17 Above & Beyond Award winners.

They are:
  • JoAnn Arneson, second grade teacher, Madison Elementary School.
  • Jennifer Babiracki, special education supervisor, Educational Service Center.
  • Julie Danielowski, third grade teacher, Eisenhower Elementary School.
  • Kathy Dvorak, first grade teacher, Oxbow Creek Elementary School.
  • Michael George, principal, Champlin Park High School.
  • Jennifer Gilbert, wellness specialist and SHIP coordinator, Educational Service Center.
  • Todd Hunter, science teacher, Anoka High School.
  • Leah Lewis, library paraeducator, University Avenue Elementary School.
  • Kelly McQuay, technology education teacher, Northdale Middle School.
  • Gena Mickley, special education paraeducator, Sand Creek Elementary School.
  • Jeffrey Mueller, transportation safety coordinator, Educational Service Center.
  • Diane Therrien, special education teacher, Jackson Middle School.
  • Dua Yang, English language (EL) paraeducator, University Avenue Elementary School.
  • Andrea Zinda, school counselor, Jackson Middle School.
Award winners and their guests will be recognized at an award ceremony Wednesday, April 12, at the Educational Service Center in Anoka.

The Anoka-Hennepin Educational Foundation (AHEF) and the Anoka-Hennepin School District sponsor the Above & Beyond Awards program jointly. Its mission is to recognize outstanding employees for innovation, creativity, caring and commitment. Award recipients were nominated by parents, students and colleagues and were selected by a panel of community representatives, staff and principals.
