Champlin Park High School holds ribbon-cutting event to celebrate Fit for the Future construction updates
(11/19/19) Champlin Park High School (CPHS) held a ceremonial ribbon-cutting event Nov. 18 to mark the completion of Fit for the Future facility improvements at the school.
Anoka-Hennepin School Board treasurer Bill Harvey and director Nicole Hayes had the honor of cutting the ribbon during the event, which was attended by numerous members of the community, elected officials from around the area, as well as school staff, district leaders, and other guests. Superintendent David Law joined the School Board members in thanking the community for supporting Anoka-Hennepin by investing in the district and its schools through the 2017 Fit for the Future referendum approval, which made construction improvements at CPHS possible.
Following the ribbon-cutting event, those in attendance took a tour of the school, led by principal Mike George. Guests were able to visit the new and renovated spaces and hear how they are being utilized to provide great learning opportunities for students.
At CPHS, the phase one work included a two-story classroom addition on the west side of the school, the fieldhouse addition on the south side, and the auditorium storage on the east side. All projects were finished to start the school year. There are no phase two projects at CPHS.
