Blaine and Champlin Park high school seniors named College-sponsored National Merit Scholarship winners
(06/04/2025) Blaine High School - Center for Engineering, Mathematics and Science (BHS) senior Kieran Hobot and Champlin Park High School - International Baccalaureate Programme (CPHS) senior Elizabeth Mayor have earned College-sponsored National Merit Scholarships financed by U.S. colleges and universities, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®) announced June 4.
These scholarships provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution financing the scholarship.
Hobot will attend the University of Texas at Dallas and plans to study business administration, and Mayor will attend Carleton College, where she plans to study writing.
College-sponsored Merit Scholarship winners are a part of the distinguished group of more than 6,930 high school seniors who will receive National Merit Scholarships for undergraduate college study worth nearly $26 million. Earlier this spring, NSMC announced winners of corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards and National Merit $2,500 scholarships.
In May, Coon Rapids High School - Center for Biomedical Sciences and Engineering (CRHS) senior Cole Burnett was named a National Merit Scholar.
