(06/03/2024) Champlin Park High School - International Baccalaureate Programme (CPHS) senior Amara Kolles has been selected as a Triple Threat on Hennepin student by Hennepin Theatre Trust. 

Kolles earned a spot following an extensive auditioning process where she submitted singing and dancing performances and an essay about how she has made the school better before being selected for a live audition. 

Just 24 junior or senior high school students are selected as Triple Threat students each year. 

To be named a Triple Threat, students must demonstrate exceptional singing, acting, dancing and leadership skills. Starting in May, Triple Threat students participate in an intensive coaching, rehearsal and performance process in preparation for Spotlight Showcase, an event celebrating the best of Minnesota high school theater. More than 1,600 students will participate in the awards and recognition event at the historic State Theatre June 10-11.

Triple Threat students can be considered for the Triple Threat New York Experience, an all-expenses paid trip to New York City where young artists attend Broadway shows, meet with industry professionals and participate in workshops. Students can also become a Minnesota nominee for the National High School Musical Theatre Awards, or The Jimmy® Awards. This all-expenses paid trip is for a rigorous theatre intensive that includes coaching sessions, training, and rehearsals led by some of Broadway’s most accomplished professionals in New York City.
