Tim Fournier named emergency management coordinator
(12/03/2020) Tim Fournier has been named Anoka-Hennepin’s emergency management coordinator.
Fournier joins Anoka-Hennepin after serving as chief of police for the city of New Hope police department. He retired from law enforcement after spending 25-plus years in public safety administration, emergency management and community relations. Fournier spent nine years as chief of police for New Hope after six years as a patrol officer and 12 years as a sergeant with the department.
“I look forward to working in partnership with our schools and communities to provide a safe and secure environment for students, staff and visitors across the district,” Fournier said.
During his time in law enforcement, Fournier was a board member and instructor for the Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association, past president of the Hennepin County Chiefs of Police Association, SWAT operator for 15 years and is a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy.
He has also served in the role as adjunct professor for Cardinal Stritch University and as a paramedic for Hennepin County Medical Center.
Fournier began his new role with Anoka-Hennepin Nov. 9.
