Weather conditions impact schedules for Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024; afternoon transportation schedules modified

(12/19/2024) Due to predicted weather and road conditions impacting travel throughout the afternoon and early evening hours, the district is modifying afternoon schedules for the safety of students and staff.

Modified afternoon schedule: The school day will continue as usual, however, secondary schools will dismiss early as a preventative measure to help buses run on schedule for the remainder of the afternoon.

  • High schools: Will dismiss 30 minutes early.
  • Middle schools: Will dismiss 15 minutes early.
  • Elementary schools: Will release at the regularly scheduled bell times.
  • Specialty programs: River Trail Learning Center/Two Rivers/STEP will dismiss 30 minutes early.
  • Preschool: Buses will pick up students at the normal time. Dismissal will follow the modified schedule by school or site. Additional information may be provided by location.

Buses may be half an hour or more late because driving conditions often slow traffic. Please avoid calling the school or the Transportation Department (763-506-1125) unless your child is more than 30 minutes late returning home.

Activities: After-school and evening activities are expected to operate as planned unless notification is provided otherwise by individual activity coordinators.

  • High school activities: Determined by activity. Check with the coach or advisor.
  • Elementary and middle school activities: Will operate as normal unless notified otherwise.
  • Adventures Plus school-age care: Will operate on normal schedule and remain open until all children have been picked up
  • Facility use: Will remain open as expected.
