Teams from across district compete in robotics tournament
(4/20/24) Last Saturday, the halls of Oak View Middle School buzzed with excitement as budding engineers and programmers showcased their talents at the annual middle school robotics tournament. The event drew participants from all six middle schools, each eager to demonstrate their weeks of dedication and innovation.
According to one of the coordinators, the tournament continues to be an awesome event that highlights the remarkable abilities of the district's middle school students.
“I spoke with quite a few parents and coaches during the tournament who really enjoyed seeing what the students could achieve through teamwork,” said Jamie Law, Community Schools Coordinator at Northdale Middle School.
Indeed, the atmosphere was electric as teams competed head-to-head, their robots maneuvering through challenges and obstacles with precision and agility. Preparation for the tournament included countless hours of designing, building, coding and strategizing.
For the students, the tournament was more than just a chance to showcase their technical skills, they also gained invaluable experience in problem-solving, teamwork, and perseverance, skills that will serve them well long after the final buzzer sounded.
