National Bullying Prevention Month continues with reminders to students and families
(10/12/2018) Anoka-Hennepin is committed to creating an inclusive and positive climate in all schools. As part of this effort, the district is sharing some reminders on bullying and harassment in conjunction with October’s National Bullying Prevention campaign.
For elementary students, a brochure called “Stop and Think, Bullying Hurts,” will be available in offices in all schools starting next week. Middle and high school students will have a similar brochure available called, “Bullying is No Joke.”
“It so important that all our students feel safe, comfortable and ready to learn at school,” said Dr. Jennifer Cherry, student services director. “Everyone’s help – staff, students and parents – is needed to continue making our schools welcoming communities.”
Anoka-Hennepin student services staff created the brochures. Information includes best practices for identifying and preventing bullying as well as details about how to report bullying behaviors. The brochures and additional bullying prevention resources can be found at ahschools.us/StopBullying.
