Reminder: No school on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5
(10/30/2019) Anoka-Hennepin schools will hold a professional development day for staff on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5, which means that there will not be school for students. The School Board decided to hold a professional development day on Election Day to mitigate any potential concerns about student safety and to minimize disruptions to learning.
A similar professional development day is being held on the presidential primary Election Day, Tuesday, March 3, 2020. Review district calendars online at ahschools.us/calendar.
Non-school day activities
Anoka-Hennepin Community Educationcoordinates classes and activities for students in kindergarten through grade eight after-school, in the evening, on the weekends and over the summer months. In addition, unique field trips and all-day activities are coordinated on non-school days to enhance academic and social experiences for students while they’re out of school.
"School's Out" trips and activities are supervised and led by trained coaches, licensed teachers or knowledgeable staff who emphasize and encourage participation and respect for others.
