Community Education coordinates exciting activities and classes for youth over the summer months
(3/18/19) Summer is a great time to meet friends, learn new things and make fun memories! Community Education coordinates camps, classes and activities for children entering kindergarten through grade eight over the summer months. Programs are designed to appeal to the interests of youth while providing academic and social experiences that support learning and growth over the summer months.
A wide variety of options, including a lunch bunch program to bridge morning and afternoon activities, will be available at Oak View Middle School and Northdale Middle School. View the catalog online.
“The summer program helps our schools bridge what students learned in the school year to the fall by providing not just enrichment, but social interaction, recreation and instruction through fun, hands-on classes and activities," said Michelle Trelstad, director of Anoka-Hennepin Community Education.
Students have the chance to catch up with friends from the school year, and make new friends while exploring arts, theater, STEM, athletic, musical and enrichment opportunities, in addition to field trips.
Students currently receiving free- or reduced-price meals through Anoka-Hennepin Schools may pay a reduced class fee. For more information, call 765-506-5955. Visit www.discovercommunityed.com to browse classes and activities offered in the summer and during the school year.
Preschool enrichment classes and activities will be posted on the Anoka-Hennepin Community Education website Mon., Apr. 23.
