Districtwide middle school dance competition held Apr. 18
(4/22/19)Fourteen middle school dance teams comprised of over 235 dancers performed and competed in front of over 1,500 family members and friends Apr. 18 at Blaine High School. Each team performed one number, and then judges tallied the scores to award first, second and third-place trophies to teams in the "A" and "B" divisions at the end of the competition.
Middle school athletic programs, including dance teams, are coordinated by Anoka-Hennepin Community Education. Sports are supervised and led by certified coaches, licensed teachers and/or knowledgeable staff who emphasize skill development, participation, teamwork, leadership, social growth, sportsmanship and respect for others.
Top "A" teams:
First place: Roosevelt Middle School
Second place: Anoka Middle School
Third place: Northdale Middle School
Top "B" teams:
First place: Roosevelt Middle School (blue team)
First place: Roosevelt Middle School (blue team)
Second place: Roosevelt Middle School (white team)
Third place: Northdale Middle School (purple team)
