(6/15/23) The Blaine Early Childhood Center is on track to open at the beginning of the 2023-24 school year. The inside of the building and the playground are currently being renovated to accommodate multiple programs.

Anoka-Hennepin Schools purchased the building in 2022 to provide additional early childhood services to residents on the east end of the school district.

In June, Community Education and special education staff toured the building to view the construction process. While there is still a lot to be completed before the building opens September, Community Education Director Tracy Knighton was impressed with the project.

“This will impact a lot of families because we did not have an early learning facility in this area until now,” said Knighton. “We are excited to be able to serve children in the community where they live.”

The building is located at 13001 Central Ave. NE in Blaine.
