Middle school dance teams perform in district competition

Collage of dancers(4/9/24) Friends and families filled the field house at Anoka High School on Tuesday night to watch the district’s middle school dance teams perform in the end-of-season competition.

Hosted by Anoka-Hennepin Community Education, teams from all six middle schools participated in the annual event.

Dancers, grades 6-8, practiced after school to perfect their skills. ‘A’ and ‘B’ teams were formed in late February. Coaches for each team selected the songs and choreographed a unique routine for performances.

Here are the judges' picks for this year’s competition:

‘A’ Team

1st – Anoka Middle School

2nd – Roosevelt Middle School

‘B’ Team

1st – Jackson Middle School

2nd – Northdale Middle School

3rd – Coon Rapids Middle School and Oak View Middle School
