Community Education hosts winter chess tournament
(2/26/25) The Winter 2025 Anoka-Hennepin Community Education Chess Tournament was held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Hamilton Elementary School.
31 students representing their respective elementary and middle schools participated in the tournament. The students were from Andover, Brookside, Eisenhower, McKinley, Morris Bye, Oxbow, Ramsey, Rum River, Sand Creek, Sunrise, Jackson Middle School, Northdale Middle School and Roosevelt Middle School.
Programmers were excited about the excellent spectator turn out and said families were able to witness some exciting chess matches.
The participants played a 6-round Swiss System tournament.
