Rock Your School event at Brookside Elementary creates a rockin’ fun learning environment
(10/25/2022) Teachers at Brookside Elementary School banded together to deliver their content with bravado Oct. 19, as the school participated in Rock Your School, a worldwide event designed to energize educators, engage students and celebrate learning.
For the third year in a row, Brookside teachers and staff transformed the school into an extra fun and engaging learning environment and got creative with their lesson plans. Each grade level had a theme, ranging from a full carnival in first grade to camping and an outdoor theme in third grade. View photos from the Brookside Rock Your School event.
“I like it because everyone dresses up and all of the decorations,” said third grader Graysen Faucher.
In second grade, there was a detective and spy theme. Second grader Oona Allenson, code name Round Night, said, “The teachers make math more fun by playing games.”
“It is so amazing to see the look on the kids’ faces when they walk through the door because they are just in awe,” said Cindy Houle, a third grade teacher. “To watch the glee on their faces and their excitement for learning for the day is amazing. I think it helps to re-engage them so we get a little extra time out of them in between the school breaks.”
