My Vision of Kindness: students invited to participate in annual Kindness Poster Contest
(10/01/2025) As a part of October’s National Bullying Prevention campaign, Anoka-Hennepin is excited to announce the 22nd Annual Kindness Poster Contest.
The district invites students at all grade levels to submit their best artwork for the competition. Each elementary and middle school will select one winning poster for each grade level, K-8, and each high school will select one winning poster from grades 9-12 to advance to the district-level judging contest.
My Vision of Kindness: This year’s kindness poster contest theme is: My Vision of Kindness, and those words must be on the poster. All participants will help create and spread kindness messages in their schools through the competition.
What is kindness?: Kindness is a positive call to action to counteract the negative impact of bullying. Anoka-Hennepin’s core values of Respect, Responsibility, Appreciation of Diversity, Integrity, and Compassion are the basis of kindness.
The winning posters at the school level that have advanced to district-level voting will be judged on Nov. 4, election day, by district staff at the Educational Service Center in Anoka. The district winners will then be recognized at a future School Board meeting and will receive a Kindle tablet from the Horace Mann Company. Winning posters will also be posted on the district website and printed for use in schools.
Poster specifics: In addition to needing the words, My Vision of Kindness on the poster, posters must be on 11” x 17” paper. Lightweight paper, if used, should be mounted on tagboard. The student’s name, grade, and school must be on the back of the poster.
Crayons, felt tip pens, markers, paint, pen, and ink, pencil, etc., may be used to create the poster, but do not use photographs or Xerox copies. Do not use wood, plastic, glass, metal, string, fabric, felt, collage materials, stencils, internet downloads, or computer art.
