Jennifer Beck named new district finance director
(05/21/20) A familiar face will be taking over as Anoka-Hennepin’s finance director with John Koehler retiring.
Jennifer Beck, who has been the district’s finance compliance manager for more than four years, has been selected to fill Koehler’s role as the next finance director. She will begin her new role on July 1, 2020.
“It means a lot to me,” Beck said of the promotion. “I get to continue to grow professionally at a place that I truly enjoy working at. Not only do I get to challenge myself and continue to work with a great team, I get to still help in the educating of children.”
Prior to her current position, Beck was an accountant for the Elk River School District for three years, and before that, was a finance data specialist with Anoka-Hennepin for a year.
“I knew I always wanted to work with numbers growing up — math was a passion of mine in school,” she said. “It wasn’t until I was selected as a student worker for the Elk River School District that I fell in love with working in education.”
In her new role, Beck will assume general administrative responsibility for the district’s accounting and payroll departments, warehouse and purchasing, and other areas.
“It is always a little hard when adjusting into a new position however, knowing I still get to use all the great resources and relationships I have gained while working here at Anoka-Hennepin makes it much easier,” Beck said.
