Anoka-Hennepin schools have strong showing at Youth In Music competition
(10/15/18) All five of Anoka-Hennepin’s traditional high schools competed in the 15th Annual Youth In Music Championships at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis Oct. 12. The premier marching band event boasted its largest field in the event’s history with teams competing from Minnesota, Illinois, Wisconsin, and South Dakota.
Special guests included the South Dakota State University, Minnesota State University, Mankato and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire marching bands.
The Andover High School (AndHS) marching band had a strong showing in the competition, placing first overall in Class A. AndHS also placed in the Youth In Music Grand Championship.
Blaine High School finished second in Class A, followed by Anoka High School in third and Coon Rapids High School in seventh. Champlin Park High School competed in Class AA, and placed sixth.
