Employees can check out Twin Cities YMCA locations for free Dec. 9-16
(12/06/19) Two years ago, Anoka-Hennepin announced a corporate partnership with the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities. In addition to big discounts for employees, the YMCA also offers another benefit: free trial weeks a couple times a year so district staff and their families can give it a try.
Next week, from Dec. 9-16, Anoka-Hennepin employees and their families can go to any YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities location for free. All folks need is their badge, business card, or other proof of employment. If you like the YMCA and want to sign up during the trial week, they’re also offering $0 enrollment fees and no dues until Jan. 1, 2020.
The entire fitness center at every YMCA location is free to use and explore. Also free to check out: the pools, fitness classes like yoga, spin and Zumba, and even child care.
Currently, Anoka-Hennepin employees receive a $15 monthly reimbursement discount for being a member of the YMCA, per employee, and that’s in addition to any health insurance reimbursement discount applied to membership accounts. For Anoka-Hennepin’s full-time employees with Medica, that means they’ll receive a $15 YMCA monthly reimbursement discount and a $20 monthly Medica reimbursement discount (for attending at least 12 times a month), for a total discount of $35 every month. Anoka-Hennepin employees also receive free towel service when they sign up.
There are 25 YMCA locations in the greater Twin Cities, including Andover, Coon Rapids, Lino Lakes and Elk River, and a membership works at every location.
