Grading

Each day in class you will be giving a task, and if that task is completed to my satisfaction, you will be given a “1” for the day.  At the end of the week, if you have all “1”s you will earn a C.  If you have any “0” for any day that week, you will be given an NP for the week, and that NP will remain until you have made up the task for the day you missed.  If you would like an A or B for that term, you will need to score higher on tests or complete additional assignments- See Ms. Pelzel if interested.  Unit tests need to be passed with a score of 70% or higher in order to earn credit.  If students do not achieve this the first time you will need to complete remediation and retest until you pass.

For the final trimester grade, refer to the grading table.

(the final, CSA.)

*If a 70% is not achieved on CSA, the student could earn a B.

AND

*If a 50% is not achieved on CSA, students could earn a C.

Homework

In order to earn an A or a B, students will have to do work outside of class.  The work may include watching a video, doing a worksheet, etc… If additional work is something a student wants to pursue, he/she must talk with the teacher.

Absences and Assignments

Classwork will be given each day. Daily work will help students learn concepts and is required to earn a passing grade. It is a given that some students may be absent from time to time. If a student makes the choice to be gone and miss material learned, they will need to make up that information on their own time.

Academic Dishonesty

Academic Dishonesty will not be tolerated by any means.  If a student is caught cheating, all parties involved will receive a zero for that specific assignment, quiz, test or project and will be referred to an assistant principal. Take your education seriously; with the new grading policy it is the student’s responsibility to understand each learning target and cheating helps no one.
