12th Grade Assessments

There are no specific assessments given at this grade, however students in grade 12 need to have completed the graduation assessments given in prior years. Students that are new to the district or have not had the opportunity to complete during high school must still complete the required assessment to receive a diploma.

This test is administered to English learners in order to measure progress toward meeting Minnesota’s standards for English language development. This assessment measures students' social and academic language related to listening, speaking, reading and writing in kindergarten through grade 12.

This test is administered in February-March to kindergarten through 12th grade students identified as English learners.

Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA) – Science

This state test helps measure student progress toward Minnesota's academic standards for science. High school students take the MCA Science test once during high school. It is taken the year students fulfill their Life Science (Biology) requirement. Most students take the MCA, but students who receive special education services and meet eligibility criteria may take the the MTAS.
This test is administered in Trimester 3 to high school students the year they are scheduled for Biology (typically 11th grade, but in some cases may be 10th or 12th grade).
