Child Nutrition hybrid and distance learning meal options
The Anoka-Hennepin child nutrition program is dedicated to providing high quality, nutritious meals to district students. Anoka-Hennepin’s child nutrition department is continuing its participation in the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) program aimed to provide nutritious meals to students. All meals will be free for students until the end of the 2020-21 school year or until funding is exhausted. The USDA is providing the financial resources for the program.

Ways to receive meals
Pick up
Fridays: distance learning students
- Students or parents/guardians can pick up distance learning meals at one of the five district high schools. View the schools assigned to each high school page for details on that.
- Meal pick up will be from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Friday evenings.
- Meals will be picked up from the lobby or vestibule of the high school. Please follow the face covering guidelines when entering the building. You'll need to provide staff with your students name(s) for meal pick up.
- You may be asked to show proof of enrollment for your student(s). A letterhead, report card, student ID, or other district generated document will all work.
- Note: As of Jan. 4, pre-ordering is not required for full distance learners, but still needed for hybrid learners.

Process for in-person meals
For hybrid learning students, breakfast and lunch meals on in-person days at school will follow a standard procedure. Students will:
- Enter and exit the serving line in a single file.
- Wait in the marked areas.
- Wait for staff to serve food to you.
- Pick up pre-packaged food.
- Checkout. For now, meals will be free to all of our enrolled students, for as long as federal funds remain available. When the federal funds are no longer available, students will return to their free, reduced or paid status and will use a barcode on their student IDs or mobile devices to purchase their meals.
- Students will eat in designated seating areas.
