      SUN Bucks program available for free/reduced-eligible students(06/04/2025) The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced the SUN Bucks program. This income-based food support program provides families $120 per eligible school-aged child to buy groceries when school is out for the summer.

      Brookside's Kristin Rutz named candidate for Minnesota Teacher of the Year(01/29/2024) Candidates for the 2024 Minnesota Teacher of the Year award have been announced and Anoka-Hennepin has seven educators who were nominated. This year’s program will name the 60th Minnesota Teacher of the Year, celebrating the tradition of excellence in teaching in Minnesota.

      Brookside Elementary Student Council helps two of their own with service project(03/04/2022) At the beginning of the school year, teachers at Brookside Elementary School helped start a student council to provide students with a leadership opportunity and a voice in decision making. For the group’s first service project, the team decided to support two fellow students by collecting items for The Potato Head Project.

Middle school students delivered a treat designed by elementary schools inspired by a story they read earlier this month.

      High school marching bands hit a high note with end of season performances at U.S. Bank Stadium(10/21/2025) Marching bands from 35 schools competed in the Youth in Music State Marching Band Competition on Oct. 11; with Anoka-Hennepin high schools taking home notable honors.
