SUN Bucks program available for free/reduced-eligible students
(06/04/2025) The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced the SUN Bucks program. This income-based food support program provides families $120 per eligible school-aged child to buy groceries when school is out for the summer.

University Avenue named Magnet Schools of America School of Distinction
(01/23/2025) University Avenue Elementary School - Aerospace, Children’s Engineering and Science has been named a 2025 Magnet Schools of America (MSA) School of Distinction. MSA national merit awards are given to magnet schools that demonstrate a commitment to high academic standards, curriculum innovation, successful desegregation and diversity efforts, and strong parent and community involvement.

It's more than just free meals! Apply for educational benefits for the 2024-25 school year
(07/26/2024) All Anoka-Hennepin families are encouraged to apply for the educational benefits program for the 2024-25 school year. A new application must be submitted each school year. The enrollment window for the 2024-25 school year begins Aug. 1, 2024.

Phase 3 budget reduction and realignment process begins, community meetings set
(09/12/2025) An initial $15 million budget gap has been narrowed, with a remaining target of $8 million in reductions and realignments identified for the 2026-27 school year.

School Board amends 2025-26 school calendar
(09/03/2025) The staff development day originally scheduled for May 8, 2026 has now been moved forward by one week to Friday, May 1, 2026. The date change will be reflected in all future published calendars.

Regular season Football start times set for 7 p.m.
(09/03/2025) Regular season varsity home football games in Anoka-Hennepin are scheduled for a 7 p.m. start for the remainder of the 2025 football season following school board direction.
