Information sessions
-
Residents of Anoka-Hennepin will have the opportunity to weigh in on three questions on or before Nov. 2. The district will host community events at five locations in the school district this fall to ensure residents are informed about the impact for schools and students in the community. All events will be held from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the following locations:
- Sept. 21: Blaine High School (Watch the archived live stream.)
- Sept. 22: Champlin Park High School (Watch the archived live stream.)
- Sept. 23: Anoka High School (Watch the archived live stream.)
- Sept. 28: Andover High School (Watch the archived live stream.)
- Sept. 29: Coon Rapids High School (Watch the archived live stream.)
The information sessions will be structured with an open house style format that begins with a presentation from Superintendent Law at 6:30 p.m. followed by the opportunity for residents to view informational displays and ask questions of staff members. Attendees will have the opportunity to record questions on computer kiosks so they can be answered accurately and can also be included in the Q and A section on the Referendum 2021 website for other residents to view. The community information sessions will be streamed live on the Anoka-Hennepin Schools YouTube channel, and shared to the school district website and facebook page.
If approved, the referendum would provide funds for Anoka-Hennepin to maintain stability in schools by continuing to adequately staff schools and classrooms to address and improve class size; focus on success for students by maintaining technology tools and program opportunities; and support students by maintaining and improving mental health services along with social-emotional and academic resources.
