School canceled for Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025

(01/20/2025) Due to extreme cold weather conditions, all Anoka-Hennepin schools will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025. This decision has been made for the safety of students and staff as an Extreme Cold Warning has been issued for Anoka County until 12 Noon on Tuesday. Anoka-Hennepin does not have the option for a late start due to the district’s large and complex transportation system.

As weather conditions are expected to improve, high school after-school and evening activities may continue beginning at 2:30 p.m. Students involved in these activities should wait for a confirmation from their coach or advisor before attending the activity. In addition:

  • Late Activity Route Buses will not be running
  • The district will not resume elementary or middle school activities.
  • Adult in-person evening community education classes are canceled.
  • Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) and Preschool classes are canceled.
  • Facility rentals will continue as planned.
