Proposed boundaries presented at Sept. 20 community meeting

(09/20/2022) This message is being sent to parents and guardians with students who attend Brookside, Crooked Lake, Franklin, Lincoln, Ramsey, Rum River and Wilson Elementary Schools.

Anoka-Hennepin Schools presented proposed attendance area maps and collected community feedback at a community meeting held Sept. 20 at Anoka High School. Franklin, Lincoln and Ramsey Elementary Schools are the only schools impacted by boundary changes in the Anoka cluster.

With enrollment growth in portions of the district - Blaine, Champlin and Dayton - elementary school attendance boundary changes are needed in some areas of the school district to balance student enrollment to ensure operational efficiencies and quality education for all students. Anoka-Hennepin Schools is coordinating a process for public review and input into draft proposals, which would be approved by the school board in November and put in place for the 2023-24 school year.

Provide your feedback on the proposals with an online survey at ahschools.us/boundaryfeedback.

Changes are proposed primarily at the elementary level, but also at the middle school level in the Blaine area. There are no other middle school or any high school attendance boundary changes being proposed. Draft proposals for all areas of the district and community feedback will be presented at the Sept. 26 school board meeting.

Questions may be emailed to boundaries@ahschools.us.

Visit the Anoka-Hennepin attendance boundaries website at ahschools.us/boundaries for an overview of the process.
