District to monitor weather conditions over the weekend

Snow photo(03/22/2024) The school district is aware of the current winter weather forecasts, and will continue to monitor conditions in making a determination about school operations for Monday, Mar. 25, 2024.

The safety of all students and staff is the first priority when determining if schools should stay open. The decision to close school is a serious one, and it affects many working families who would have to take a day off of work or find day care on short notice. If the district decides to close school on Monday, Mar. 25, information will be shared in a variety of ways:

  • Phone, text and email message from the school district.

  • District and school websites.

  • District and school social media pages (e.g. FacebookInstagram and Twitter or "X").

  • Media outlets including WCCO, KSTP, FOX 9, KARE 11, CCX Media, WCCO radio and Star Tribune newspaper.

Parents should expect that unless school or activities are called off and a message is sent by the district, school buses are running and the district plans to operate as usual.

When faced with winter snow or cold, the timing serves as a reminder to review winter safety tips and #AHSchools weather protocols:
