New cell phone policy for Compass students
(01/11/22) Beginning Jan. 18 2022, all students entering the building are required to turn their cell phones in to the office. Students will get their cell phones back upon leaving the building for the day.

Teen Pregnancy Program Visits Rum River Library
(11/19/18) In November, Teen Pregnancy Program students and their babies visited Anoka County’s Rum River Library for a morning family storytime.

CAPE Childcare Center & ECFE Get New Playground
(11/01/18) The CAPE Child Care Center started the school year with a new playground! The CAPE Center was previously sharing a playground with ECFE.

Compass Programs Promotes Wellness
(04/30/18) To encourage healthy eating, Compass will be providing healthy snack options for students to take home at the end of the day. Choices may include fresh fruit, granola bars, bottled water, and other options.

Teen Pregnancy Program Hosts Winter Conferences
(01/26/18) Each trimester, the Teen Pregnancy Program hosts a family night where students and staff gather with family and friends to share food and fun. Throughout the week of conferences, students help to prepare food, activities, and decorations for the event.

(12/22/17) In October, Teen Pregnancy Program students and staff visited Anoka County’s Rum River Library. Students learned about library resources for teens and children.

Teen Pregnancy Program Learns About Trendy Parenting Technique
(12/22/17) In December, Babywearing International of the Twin Cities (BWI) visited the Teen Pregnancy Program to educate students on safe babywearing strategies. Students listened to a brief presentation on safety and styles of modern babywearing.

Teen Pregnancy Program Attends Romeo & Juliet at the Guthrie
(11/17/17) Students and staff from Anoka-Hennepin’s Teen Pregnancy Program attended the Guthrie’s October 3rd production of Romeo and Juliet. For some students and staff, this was their first trip to the Guthrie; for others, this was their first experience of live theater.

CAPE Center Partners with Early Head Start
(11/17/17) The CAPE Center has recently become an Anoka/Washington County Early Head Start Childcare Partner Program. This partnership allows the children enrolled in our program to also participate in an Early Head Start Program.

(05/13/2022) Students from Anoka-Hennepin’s Secondary Technical Education Program (STEP) have spent the 2021-22 school year building a three-bedroom home that is now up for auction.
