Adams attendance guidelines
Students need to be in class by 9:30 a.m. or risk being considered late or tardy. Students arriving after the start of the school day need to check in at the main office before going to class. The attendance phone line is 763-506-1606. If extended illness is more than three days in a row, students will need a doctor's note.We encourage parents/guardians schedule medical and dental appointments on non-school days. For more information about absences, late arrivals and tardies, please see Anoka-Hennepin's 2014-15 Policy Handbook.
The school will contact students with above average absences/tardiness and/or unexcused absences. Excessive absences may lead to a referral to Anoka County Social Services for possible support/action.Student drop-off/pick up
If you choose to transport your child to school, please use the parent pick-up area located at the north end of the parking lot. Please drop off children at the curb so they do not have to cross the parking lot between cars. Cars arriving at the school need to wait in a single file line. Students may not enter the building before 9:15 a.m. unless they're eating breakfast at the school. In that case students can enter at 9 a.m.
Students walking to school
Students who walk to school are expected to follow the same procedures of arrival times and entry as those transported by their parents.
Parent volunteer program
Parent involvement is extremely valued at Adams. Our Volunteer Services Coordinator can be reached at 763-506-1625.
Communication to parents
Parents and teachers are urged to contact each other whenever the need arises. Teachers may be contacted by note, email, or by phone call. If you wish to have a conference with the teacher, please call ahead to make an appointment.
If you wish to speak with a teacher on the phone, they are often available from 9 to 9:15 a.m. or 4 to 4:15 p.m. You are also welcome to leave teachers voice messages during the school day so that they may respond to you when they are not teaching.
If you must get a message to your child during the day, you are encouraged to call the office at 763-506-1600. The office staff will relay the message to your child.Conferences/report cards
Report cards will be distributed at the end of every trimester. Conferences are scheduled two times during the year. Please plan to attend your child's conference. The last report card of the year will be sent home via the post office.
