Dr. Eric Melbye named associate superintendent for middle schools and student services
(05/09/19) The Anoka-Hennepin School District has named Dr. Eric Melbye its new associate superintendent for middle schools and student services.
Melbye will begin July 1, filling the void left by Cory McIntyre, who earlier this year was hired to become superintendent of Osseo Area Schools.
As associate superintendent of middle schools and student services, Melbye will oversee the district’s six middle schools, as well as its special education department, student services department, Title IX programming, student mental health support services, integration and equity programming, and other areas.
He comes to Anoka-Hennepin with a breadth of leadership and student service experience, as well as years of special education department management. Most recently, Melbye served as the assistant superintendent with Bloomington Public Schools, a role he held for four years. Before that, he served five years as executive director of student services, also for Bloomington Public Schools. He’s also held roles as executive director of interagency services for Southwest Metro Intermediate District 288, and special education supervisor for Bloomington schools.
Melbye earned his bachelor’s degree in special education from Minnesota State University, Moorhead, and his master’s and doctorate in educational leadership from the University of St. Thomas.
