Bid now: Student-built sheds, outdoor tables and a chicken coop up for auction
(11/17/2023) Students in Anoka-Hennepin have built sheds, outdoor tables and a chicken coop, which are now all open for bidding. The sale of these student-built items covers the cost of materials and supports future hands-on learning opportunities.
Three student-built lean-to sheds
- Built by the Exploring Construction class at Champlin Park High School.
- Sheds are 4 feet by 8 feet. The framing is 2x4 construction, 16 inches on center. The siding is T1-11 siding 8 inches on center. Roof has a layer of 30 lb roofing felt and 30 year architectural shingles.
- Each shed has a hasp that is big enough for a padlock.
- Bidding starts at $500 and the auction ends Dec. 5.

Four student-built outdoor tables with seating
- Made by students at Blaine High School out of exterior grade brown treated lumber.
- 36 inches tall and 5 feet by 5 feet.
- Seats four people.
- Bidding starts at $275 and the auction ends Dec. 6.

Student-built luxury chicken coop
- Built by work experience students in the Anoka-Hennepin Work Experience Program.
- Constructed with ruff sawn exterior plywood siding with LP Smart Trim. Treated plywood for the inside floor. Four nesting boxes and a roosting perch.
- Approximately 51 inches wide by 62 inches long and 67 inches tall.
- Color is dark gray clay with white colored trim and a dark speckle matching shingle.
