(06/14/2023) Anoka-Hennepin Schools works with community partners and government agencies to support the needs of students and families regarding nutrition during the school year and throughout the year.

Anoka-Hennepin participates in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) through the U.S. Department of Agriculture to ensure that children continue to receive nutritious meals during summer break, when they may not have access to school breakfast or lunch. Participating locations in this program are located in the Anoka County portion of the district.

The SFSP site selection eligibility is based on free and reduced rate or census eligibility based on the most recent federal census data. The district also considers summer programming when selecting sites to offer meals.

There are a number of community resources providing summer meals in Brooklyn Park and Brooklyn Center in Hennepin County.

Osseo Area Schools acts as the School Food Authority for the Brooklyn Park Rec on the Go program and partners with the following community sites to provide free meals to participants 18 years and younger.
