May 21, 2013
Purpose of the Organization: The purpose of the organization will be that of promoting a focus upon educational and/or recreational value to the students and school community of Johnsville School. JohnsvillePTO@gmail.com

Meeting called to order at 6:36p.m.
PRINCIPAL’S REPORT:
• Finish the 2012/2013 testing season on 5/22
• Fine arts festival went very well!
• Mr. Chesness stated that bus patrols/ crossing guards were great ambassadors for Johnsville at MOA on May 8th.
• Many field trips occurring over the next weeks: on 5/23 3rd grade goes to science museum/ omni theater and Target field on 6/3, 5/23 2nd grade goes to Wargo nature center, 5/29-30 kindergarten goes to Como Zoo, 5/31 5th grade goes to Capitol/ History center, and 6/4 4th grade goes biking to Bunker Hills park.
• 2 track and field days yet to come- 5/23 1st grade will be from 9:30-12 and 4th grade from 12:30-3.
• 5/28 Bingo for books for grades 1-5.
• Kindergarten track and field day 5/22 for Dwyer, Underbakke, and Becker. 5/24 Busch and Parent’s classes.
• Last day of school for students is 6/6 and teachers are 6/7.
• Report cards mailed out 6/12.
• Notifications of teacher assignments go out week of 8/19. Open house will be 8/27 from 4-6 (Tentatively)
SECRETARY’S REPORT: Minutes from the May meeting were submitted, reviewed, and passed. Pat Taylor made a motion to accept minutes and Jean King seconded.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
• After getting food bills from carnival they put us a little under budget. Stacy Anderson made a motion to accept the report and Pam Taylor seconded.
VOLUNTEER SERVICES COORDINATOR:
• We have volunteers for the Fine Arts Festival, kindergarten data collection, and field trips.
• Still need volunteers for track and field and Books for bingo.
• Wondering if Kim Keller is still in charge of Campbells Labels.

Old Business: Will be sending out short survey to teachers to see what their needs are for next year. More talk of where to use the technology money- new computers in the lab and give old computers to the teachers?
New Business: Talk of PTO donating more books to the library and purchasing a traveling computer lab. Talk of a fall fundraiser and tying a walk-a-thon with it. Tentative date is 9/16. Will be meeting 6/25 7pm at Majestic Oaks to talk more.
