Teen Parenting Program
The Teen Parenting Program (TPP) is designed to help students remain in school during and after pregnancy. The goals of the program are to:
- Support students in getting a high school diploma.
- Assist students in making and following through on a post secondary plan.
- Provide students with education and resources to help them develop parenting skills.
- Provide students with support and resources so that they can return to their neighborhood schools or other programs after pregnancy.

I am a teenager. I think I'm pregnant. What do I do?
There is help for you. The first step is to find out if you are pregnant. Visit your doctor or one of the clinics in your area. It is important to receive good medical care as soon as possible.

What about school?
Since 1971, the Anoka-Hennepin School District 11 Teen Parenting Program has provided pregnant students a friendly, healthy, positive atmosphere designed to meet their educational, physical and emotional needs.

Where is the program located?
The program is located at Compass Bell Center - 1374 Northdale Blvd, Coon Rapids, MN 55448
CAPE Child Care is located at the Blaine Early Childhood Center - 13001 Central Ave. NE Blaine, MN 55434

Do I earn the same number of credits?
Yes, your class status and educational progress will not be interrupted by attending the program. You take the same classes for the same credit as at your home school. The District 11 calendar is followed.

How do I get there?
District 11 transportation will pick you up and return you to your home each day. Out-of-district students provide their own transportation.

How do I get started?
If you are currently attending a school in District 11, consult your counselor or school nurse for information about how to get started.
Out-of-district students and those not currently attending a school should contact the program directly.

Is there a class to help me during pregnancy or while parenting?
Students take an additional elective class which addresses a variety of topics. These include pregnancy, labor and delivery, child development, budgeting, post secondary planning, career development nutrition, and communication skills.

What should I do if I am absent?
At TPP, it's one of our goals to help students achieve success and attending school daily is part of that plan. However, if you are going to be absent for any reason, there are some calls you need to make to take care of your absence responsibility.
