• Hybrid model

    The Hybrid model at the elementary level provides in-class instruction two days a week, and distance learning three days a week. Students will be assigned to either an A day or B day for the two days of in-class instruction. The A/B day structure supports a model that balances class sizes as well as ensuring that all children living in the same household, kindergarten through 12, are scheduled in class instruction on the same day. 


    The in-class instruction schedule, two days a week, mirrors a regular elementary instructional day. Students will receive instruction in all content areas, including specials, e.g. art. The specialist instructional schedule will shift from a digital day schedule to align to an A/B day schedule.  


    The at school schedule integrates additional time for transitions and arrivals/dismissals, ensuring physical distancing and scheduled handwashing breaks. Students will have recess, with classrooms schedules limiting the number of students on the playground at any time. Structures are in place in the cafeteria for touchless service lines, and students will be physically distanced in alignment with U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines. 


    Additional services will be integrated into the student schedules. Some of those services will be delivered on their distance learning days while others will be provided on both in school and distance learning days.


    On the three days that students are provided distance learning, they will be engaged in various learning activities, with distance learning teaching support.

     

    Distance learning model

    The distance learning model at the elementary level provides students with online learning experiences and activities under the guidance of a teacher. Students will receive instruction in all content areas including specials, e.g. art. Teachers will interact daily with their students through live instruction and/or pre-recorded lessons. There will be a structured schedule for instruction and learning. Students will have the opportunity to complete assignments and participate in assessments to monitor progress.


    This model will use a common online platform, which includes Google Classroom and/or Seesaw. Both of these platforms provide the opportunity for students to turn in work for teacher feedback.


    Additional services will be provided and integrated into the student’s daily schedule.
