The following information is a jointly developed agreement that explains how family members and teachers will work together to make sure all of our students get the support they need to reach and exceed grade level standards. The families and staff at Eisenhower Elementary annually discuss, review, and revise this information. Your student’s needs, progress, and achievements will be shared at fall and winter conferences. For more information about this agreement, contact your student’s teacher.
Title I School Improvement Strategies
Eisenhower is committed to providing an atmosphere of learning for all students. This will be accomplished through:
- Reading & Math: tracking student growth data and coordination of focused interventions
- Catalyst Approach: accelerating positive school cultures
- Social Emotional Learning: implementation of Character Strong curriculum
Progress on these school efforts will be reported to families each trimester by digital newsletter.
In the Classroom
Teachers and the support staff at Eisenhower developed goals to support student learning through the following:
- Reviewing grade level standards and setting student learning targets
- Administering common formative assessments to drive instruction
- Implementing Catalyst strategies to establish relationships and maximize productivity
- Setting up structures to support social emotional learning
At Home
Eisenhower’s parents and guardians joined staff to develop ideas about how families can support students’ in reading and math.
- Explore, learn and grow with your child by asking them what they are learning in school and support them in their efforts to succeed
- Share your ideas, ask questions and get involved at Eisenhower by attending school events, volunteering, and consider becoming a member of the PTO/Title I Parent Advisory Committee (PAC)
- Communicate regularly with your child’s teacher
Communication
Our school is committed to keeping families informed.
- Grade level expectations and student progress will be explained at fall and winter conferences
- Teachers can also provide information about your student’s learning habits
- Results of MCA, NWEA MAP, and other grade appropriate assessments will be provided at conferences and made available on in the My Student Test Results app on A-H Connect

What is Title I funding?
Title I is a federally funded program that is part of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). The goal of this law is to help all students meet grade level expectations in reading and math as written in the Minnesota state standards. Our school has extra reading and math intervention teachers who can help the students who are performing below grade level in reading and/or math. This is done to be fair and equitable for all students.
The Anoka-Hennepin elementary schools whose families have the highest economic needs receive Title I dollars to help raise the academic achievement of all their students. We are a Title I Schoolwide school, and so we write goals each year to meet the needs of our school. These goals are written with staff, family, and student voices. The resources and money that come from Title I are used to meet those goals and support student success.
You may be able to help increase the funding that your school receives. If you believe that your family income may be within the guidelines for the program, you may view the application online, request an application from your school or from the school district's child nutrition program by calling 763-506-1240.

Title I schools [non-public]
Eligible private schools located within the geographic attendance boundaries of the Anoka-Hennepin School District are given the option of participating in equitable services for private school students and staff under the Elementary Secondary Education Act (ESEA). Under ESEA school districts are required to provide eligible children attending private elementary and secondary schools, their teachers and their families with services or other benefits that are equitable to those provided to eligible public school children, their teachers, and their families. Services, not funding, are provided by the district to eligible students, their families, and staff at the nonpublic school sites.
Title I, Part A
These are educational services that supplement students’ education at the private school so that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education. Generally, to qualify for assistance under Title I, a student must reside within the attendance area of a participating public school located in a low-income area and be failing, or at risk of failing, to meet student academic achievement standards.
- The following non-public schools within the Anoka-Hennepin attendance boundaries qualify and accept Title I funding: Northside Christian, St. Stephen's Catholic Schools and Way of the Shepherd.

As a parent in a Title I funded school, you have the right...
- To know the qualifications of your child's teacher.
- To know when your child has a substitute teacher for more than four weeks and the qualification of the substitute teacher.
- To expect regular communication with your school in a language and format that you can understand.
- To work with other parents and staff to jointly develop, and provide input on the Family-School Compact, Parent Involvement Plan and Family Engagement planning.
