The media center serves grades K-5. Grades 1-5 visit once a week for media lessons and to check out books. Kindergarten students visit the media center several times per month. My name is Valeka Petersen and I am the Media Specialist at Jefferson Elementary. I have been teaching in the Anoka-Hennepin School District for more than 20 years, however this is only my 4th year as a Media Specialist. I live in Blaine with my husband Mike, son Jeremy (17), daughter Taylor (15), and daughter Isabella (4). Outside of reading, I love to bake, go on camping adventures, and spend time in my home town of Richey, Montana with my parents and extended family.
