• Wellness overview

We are committed to promoting and protecting students' health and well being. We strive to provide healthy school nutrition and physical activity which are essential to good learning. These efforts also contribute positively to reducing childhood obesity and diet related chronic disease.

The Anoka-Hennepin Health and Wellness Policy was first adopted by the School Board in August 2006 to comply with the Child Nutrition and WIC Reauthorization Act of 2004.

The policy was revised by the board in February 2010 to include even more healthy changes, including encouraging healthy options in classroom treats and rewards and stipulating what kinds of beverages and snacks can be sold in school vending machines.
