Posted by: Matthew DobrzenieckiNope! When the app asks for your sign in credentials, enter your @ahschools.us account information and should sign you in.
*NOTE: If you are planning on using Google Hangouts with a student who is younger than 3rd grade, you will need to contact either Bill Underwood or Rachel Wick to activate the students @ahschools.us email account.*

Q: Do I need to download any software to use Google Hangouts?
Posted by: Matthew DobrzenieckiNope! Google Hangouts is online based. The only software you would need to download is a plug-in* for web browswers that are not Google Chrome and the iOS app for all iDevices.
*Before starting the Google Hangout session, you will be prompted to download the plug-in allowing Google Hangouts to work smoothly and properly*

Q: Will students be able to see everything on my computer screen?
Posted by:The great thing about Google Hangouts is that you are able to either share your entire screen or you have the option to choose a certain window/application. By selecting a certain window/application, you will be able to still have your email open and other windows without the student being able to see those windows/applications.

Q: Is there a way to share my iPad screen?
Posted by: Matthew DobrzenieckiUnfortunately, no. Apple doesn't currently allow to share your iPad screen via third party apps (like Google Hangouts). The only way you can share you screen, is if you're on a Mac/PC or Chromebook.

Q: Can I disable the camera and microphone access during a Hangout session?

If you wish to disable the camera and microphone access, you can do so by hovering/tapping over/on the current Google Hangout session and clicking/tapping the video camera icon to disable camera access and clicking/tapping the microphone icon to disable microphone access.
